Eendracht Aalst, since it bankrupted, did not get the professional licence for the season 2002/2003. That is the reason why it got out of the division, not regarding its placement. The season 2002/2003 it will play under the new name: Aalst 2002. Also, because of the bankrupt, Molenbeek was closed as a club. Strombek moved to the stadium of Molenbeek, and that is how the team Molenbeek Brussels Strombek started, and which will, in the season 2002/2003, play under name Strombek in the 2nd level. This club changes its name definitely in Brussels in the season 2003/2004. In a wish to keep the tradition, the fans found Molenbeek again, and it started from the lowest division (8th). Since Alst and Molenbeek were out of the 1st level, Bevern stays, even though it finished 2001/2002 season on the last place.
